Insight
Claren didn’t enter an empty market. Patients already receive guidance from doctors, insurers, online content and AI tools. Yet none of these sources provide a neutral space where people can understand options, evaluate trade-offs and make decisions with confidence. The opportunity wasn’t to provide another opinion. It was to create a trusted decision layer within healthcare.

Challenge
Designing for healthcare means designing for uncertainty. Many medical decisions don’t have one correct answer. The best choice depends on personal goals, risk tolerance and quality-of-life considerations. Claren needed a brand that felt credible, human and trustworthy — without becoming clinical, institutional or persuasive.

Context
Claren was founded around a simple idea: People deserve better support when making important healthcare decisions. Before the product could evolve, the company needed a strategic and visual foundation capable of earning trust from patients, providers and healthcare organizations alike.
Solution
We developed the strategic, visual and digital foundation from the ground up. Through workshops, positioning and visual exploration, we defined how trust, neutrality and guidance should be expressed across the brand, product and communication system. The result was one scalable framework ready to support future growth and product development.

Strategy before visuals
Before exploring visuals, we focused on understanding how people make healthcare decisions and what conditions are required for trust to emerge. The goal wasn’t aesthetics. It was trust.
User reality
Healthcare decisions often happen under emotional pressure and uncertainty. Patients face conflicting information and limited consultation time. This insight shaped every design decision — helping reduce complexity and increase clarity.

Defining the category
We mapped the broader healthcare ecosystem, including providers, insurers, educational resources and emerging AI tools. The exercise revealed a clear gap: no existing solution operated as a neutral decision layer focused on helping patients navigate preference-sensitive choices.
Brand positioning
The brand needed to balance several tensions at once: human but not emotional, credible but not institutional, intelligent but not technological. These principles became the foundation of the visual and verbal identity.

“The challenge wasn’t designing a healthcare brand. It was helping people navigate complex decisions without influencing the outcome. The role of the brand was to create clarity, not persuasion.”
